Our Policies

Stress-Free Cancellation Policy

Effective March 2020, we’re implementing a Stress-Free Cancellation Policy so that you may reserve your 2020 trip with us with confidence.

While COVID-19 is an unprecedented event in our 42 year history operating Alaska tours, one thing we know for sure is this: a trip to Alaska can be restorative to the soul and refreshing for the spirit. We are here for you when it’s time for unique and invigorating experiences with Wild Alaska. We will also be continuing to monitor the situation as it evolves, to have ongoing conversations with our Alaska travel partners, and to continue to do all we can to operate responsibly through the months ahead.

Our cancellation policies go into effect at the time of booking and upon receipt of deposit. Written cancellations and changes must be received in our reservations office to be valid. Once your scheduled departure commences, our trips run rain or shine, and non-appearance for program will result in no refund.

If the cancellation or change occurs, the per person fee is the lesser of:

30+ days prior to departure: No cancellation penalty
29 to 15 days: 25% of total trip cost
Within 14 days: 100% of total trip cost

Please note that the Stress-Free Cancellation Policy applies to your Alaska Wildland Adventures trip only; we encourage you to work with your selected airfare provider to learn their terms. We also highly recommend the purchase of Travel Protection as soon as possible after you make your deposit.

Payment Policies

We accept checks, MasterCard, VISA and Discover.
Payment Schedule:  Amount Due per Person:
121+ days prior to departure:  $1,000 or 50% of trip total, whichever is less
120 to 61 days:  50% of total
Within 60 days:  100% of total

Reservations made within 60 days of departure must be guaranteed with MasterCard, VISA or Discover. Late payments may result in releasing your reservation and rebooking will be subject to availability. Cancellation fees apply. Upon receipt of your initial deposit, we will mail you written confirmation and a travel insurance application. Kenai Borough Tax varies based on the number of nights you stay with us. Seasonal fuel surcharges, when applicable, are not included in trip price and are subject to change prior to trip departure.

Refunds

No refunds will be made on individual features, transfers or sightseeing voluntarily omitted by the participant. No refunds for unused services will be issued. Our tours operate rain or shine; see our Notes About Weather for more details. Refunds for cancelled flights or any services reserved outside of Alaska Wildland Adventures will be made in accordance with the rules of the carrier.

Travel Protection

We recommend that you purchase a travel protection plan to help protect you and your travel investment against the unexpected. Travel protection plans can include coverage for Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Emergency Medical and Emergency Evacuation/Repatriation, Trip Delay, Baggage Delay and more.

Alaska State Fish and Game Bag Limits

Please note that State Fish and Game officials may, on occasion, place "catch and release," modified bag limits, or temporary closures on salmon to protect their annual return. Fishing seasons and bag limits have also been known to be increased. Rainbow trout are catch and release. We strongly support regulations designated to result in the sustainability of this outstanding resource.

Guests are responsible for making Alaska Wildland Adventures aware of any health limitations and any dietary restrictions in writing 60 days prior to departure date. A guest information form will be provided to you.

Costs of accommodations and associated services for delays or other alterations en route, caused by weather, flight schedules, and other events beyond our control are the responsibility of our guests. Alaska Wildland Adventures will not assume any additional costs.

In the event of a cancellation or major itinerary change due to a significant natural event, AWA will best assess the amount of available refund or credit toward a future trip with AWA. If a trip is cancelled in progress, the tour operator will best attempt to prorate a refund based on the number of days not complete. In any case, AWA cannot guarantee any refund amount due to cancellations beyond our control and strongly recommends that all guests purchase travel insurance.

On advancement of deposit to Alaska Wildland Adventures, the depositor agrees to be bound by all the above stated terms, conditions, and cancellation policies whether through an agency or directly with our office.
